Today is the day to scrape your tongue.

Do you need some tough love? Email Dear Mrs. Zulkey.com She still needs a question to answer.

Speaking of Mrs. Zulkey.com, there is a Mr. Zulkey.com. He recently had a reverie for me (and you) about things of childhood:

"Recently, I was carrying a bottle of water by gripping the top of the cap and letting the rest of the bottle hang. This reminded me of the way one would grip the knob of a baseball bat when picking sides in a pick up game (if the other team captain could not kick it out of your hand in three tries, you got first pick).

I first reflected on how it's been well over forty years since I did that. It also got me thinking how, when I did that the last time, I never realized it would be the last time, and whether it would have meant more to me if I had.

This then made one wonder how many things we do repeatedly at one point in our lives that end in that manner (e.g., When was the last year you believed in in Santa Claus)."

Summer is often a time for reflection, probably because of summer vacation and all that. Do you remember when the last time was that you participated in a childhood activity? Running through a sprinkler, going to camp, petted your dog, sleeping with a security blanket, going to an old store or restaurant before it was closed?

Email me your "The Last Time I..." and we can run them later this week. It will be very poignant and whatnot.
