Today is the day to tell me what to put up here.

This weekend, the Chicago Cubs played the Detroit Tigers in interleague play (the sport in this case is baseball, not soccer, hockey or basketball.) The Detroit Tigers stand directly between my Chicago White Sox and first place, so I found myself cheering for the Cubs for the first time since I was a little kid and decided that I was going to root for the Cubs simply because I was afraid of the fireworks at Comiskey.

Here is what I realized this weekend:

The Cubs suck.

Now I might have said that before, but when I did, I meant it in a hater kind of way. Many of their fans were obnoxious. They fill up the street and make it hard to get around during home games. I was jealous of their attendance records. I was sick of seeing chubby overly tan girls in tight t-shirts and visors puking outside Hi-Topps. The team had nothing to do with it. I was your typical bitter White Sox fan.

Now, though, I am talking about the team itself, who I have no particular hate or love for. They stink. They are really bad. I feel true sadness for the real fans. Especially since the obnoxious fans probably just undermine them--they continue to pay money to see a bad team play which gives the organization no motivation to make any improvements--PLUS, they make their good and decent counterparts look bad by being so vocal and obnoxious.

My advice for the real Cub fans out there is to start kidnapping the cell-phone fans and prevent them from coming out and spending $8 on Old Style and hundreds on scalper tickets and supporting this franchise.

Anyway, I'm really sorry. And thanks for nothing, by the way!

Speaking of baseball, we probably won't talk about that much this Thursday--you should come out!
